EXECUTIVE COACH & LEADERSHIP CONSULTANT
The SEAL teams are arguably the military’s most elite “High Performing Team”. Since I left the SEALs, it is my observation that the vast majority of organisations and their people want to perform at their best.
Oftentimes a change is needed however, the challenge is articulating WHAT to change and HOW to change it.
The coaching program uses scientifically “reliable” and “valid” diagnostics to chart individual and team dynamics. With focused activities and coaching sessions, we measure behavioural norms, explore how they may enhance or limit effectiveness and take action to implement change.
COACHING PROGRAM OPTIONS
Depending on the needs of the individual or the organisation, the following three options are designed to facilitate personal transformation. They can be used in sequence, in combination or in isolation:
-
- Discovery coaching – This approach suits people who are looking for clarity around a specific issue.
- Structural coaching – This approach is designed to assist people who would like to engage a coach to achieve specific leadership or personal goals.
- Diagnostic informed coaching – This diagnostic provides the framework for participants to become aware of how they view themselves and how their behaviour is viewed by others. This approach assists participants to become more effective leaders.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why I coach?
The short answer: I enjoy providing a space for people to experience insights.
The slightly longer answer: I have found it useful in my life. An open-ended conversation with a coach who is present and curious provides a useful (and often profound) setting for the “coachee” to attend to things that are of critical importance.
Who I coach?
The short answer: If the chemistry is right, any willing participant.
The slightly longer answer: I have coached or am coaching people at various points in their development journey (from senior executives of publicly listed companies, to people who are just starting out). I will not coach people who are not interested in getting coached. Please note: Remedial coaching for organizations looking to performance manage someone is not something I do.
How I coach?
The short answer: I ask you questions I don’t know the answer to.
The slightly longer answer: I don’t have the answers, you do. If I told you the answers, I wouldn’t be coaching you (I would be mentoring you, and that is different). Helping you explore the vision for who or what you want is what I do. I am a NeuroLeadership trained coach which means that I focus on ensuring you are in a space where personal insights can occur. Additionally, and just as important – I help you develop an action plan and hold you accountable so that you get traction on where you want to go.
What does it cost?
The short answer: It depends.
The slightly longer answer: I charge professional coaching rates that are commensurate with my experience (these are likely to be less than a commercial lawyer and more than a counsellor). Depending on the scope of engagement and if we use third party behavioral diagnostics, the cost of the engagement will vary.
